Helen McCabe-Young is an accomplished business leader with extensive international sales and marketing experience in leisure travel and hospitality. She has been instrumental in establishing some of the most highly regarded travel brands including Silversea Cruises, One&Only Resorts and Atlantis The Palm, Dubai. Ms. McCabe-Young's career began in advertising and covered several other business categories, punctuating her marketing versatility and underpinning an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for launching new products. Inspired by a long-standing passion for the health and wellness sector, she pursued her own business vision after leaving Kerzner International, and in partnership with Tracy Whynot, L.Ac launched Place360 Health + Spa Ltd (R), an integrated health center and spa located in Del Mar, California in November, 2010.
Ms. McCabe-Young joined Kerzner International in 2003 as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing to oversee worldwide Sales, Marketing and PR for the new One&Only Resorts brand. In a short period of time, the brand became known for "punching well above its weight" with only six resorts and extraordinary worldwide acclaim. In 2007, Ms. McCabe-Young was appointed Chief Marketing Officer for Atlantis The Palm, Dubai in addition to One&Only, and assumed responsibility for the international sales and marketing launch of Atlantis The Palm, which opened in September 2008. She also led the international sales offices and General Sales Agents for Kerzner, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Kerzner/One&Only, Ms. McCabe-Young was Vice-President, Marketing for Silversea Cruises Ltd. While at Silversea, she set the brand's strategic marketing course encompassing the launch of two new ships which more than doubled the lineÕs capacity. She was instrumental in launching several new programs and served a lead marketing role in the pre-launch of ResidenSea as part of a management agreement between the two companies.
From 1986 to 1999 Ms. McCabe-Young held various account management roles at leading ad agencies including Campbell-Ewald, BBDO and Ketchum, where she was responsible for the western region as Senior Vice President, Director for the directory division within the group.
Ms. McCabe-Young's advertising experience within the travel sector included Sitmar Cruises, Princess Cruises, MGM Grand Air and Outrigger Hotels, with other business categories ranging from technology, automotive and insurance to veterinary services. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with numerous awards for creativity and effectiveness, including HSMAI Platinum, Gold and Silver awards, among others.
