Chem Chem Live Wildlife Foundation

Situated within a privileged Wildlife Management Area between Northern Tanzania’s Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, lies 55,000 acres of raw, untainted African bush – the Chem Chem Wildlife Concession.

Chem Chem is the realization of that calling – a place where time, beauty and pleasure know no boundaries. Underlying this dream is an immense love and respect for nature, an understanding of the current challenges facing today’s precious wildlife, a passion to protect, not only animals, but their natural habitats and two sensitive souls that are dedicated to the philosophy that real life experiences far exceed the importance of materialistic possessions.

Current Initiatives

Our goal is to revive and protect the last existing wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Manyara National Parks. The natural migration and movement of wildlife, especially elephants, is essential to the survival of the region’s entire ecosystem.

Our work is devoted to educating communities, especially children, towards a sustainable future, as we believe that supporting education and protecting wildlife forms a perfect symbiosis.

Every year we organize a 12-week soccer cup among the 10 villages boarding our concession. This is a great platform to bring conservation closer to local communities. During these three months we reach out to more then 10,000 people who hear our message about the importance of the region's wildlife.

Chem Chem Safari Lodges was born out of Fabia Bausch and Nicolas Negre’s deep passion for Tanzania’s incredible natural heritage. Coupled with this love is an innate understanding of the area’s need for healthy, sustainable economic and social development. In recognizing this need, Fabia and Nicolas established their non-profit foundation: LiveWildlife through which they contribute to the community surrounding the lodge.
